Lesson 05
Choose your first safe workflow
Pick one recurring task where AI can help with a narrow step and where you can easily review the result.
Key ideas
What to remember
Good starter workflows are recurring, low-risk, and easy to review.
AI is often most useful for one step, not the whole process.
The safest first tests avoid sensitive data and high-stakes decisions.
Practice
One-step workflow test
Write down a recurring task in five to seven steps.
Circle one step where drafting, summarizing, comparing, or organizing would help.
Test AI on that one step using safe context and write down how you reviewed the result.
What you produce
A one-page workflow experiment: current steps, AI-supported step, review notes, and next decision.
Review before moving on
Is the task low-risk?
Can you review the result easily?
Did AI reduce friction without taking over the decision?
